If only...

If only... is the last video I produced at the University of Michigan, in April 2010.

It took one month and 6GB of pictures to do this piece (by myself!) using the technique of stop motion.

Special thanks to Alexis Bravos and Chris McNamara for their precious teachings and advices.

Sound Project

This piece is a portrait of my apartment in Ann Arbor using only sound.

First, you will hear me walking in the snow in the street. Then, going inside my building and finally my apartment. There you will hear the various sounds that characterize it, like the fridge or the laundry room and the heating system of the building which are right next to my bedroom. Finally, I will put on earplugs and go to sleep.

Throughout the piece, you will hear about 20 different sounds, recorded separately and then mixed and edited.

For a better experience, grab a headphone!

A minute in Chicago

From now on, as part of the production class I'm taking at the University Of Michigan, I will post one video every week. This video journal will go on until the end of the semester. The postings will be about one minute long or less.

A minute in Chicago is the first posting of this journal.

I improved and/or recreated the entire soundtrack of the video as a practice for the third project of the class, which will be a portrait of a place using only sound.

Outside Paris

Outside Paris is a portrait Phil Marcelin made of me in February 2010 at the University of Michigan.

It respects the same restrictions I had for the making of Emotions.

The editing repeats the same frame configuration (i.e. a score) for one minute 20/20/10/40/10/5/30/60.

Inside

Inside is a one-minute in camera edited video self-portrait I produced at the University of Michigan, in January 2010.

La Connection Française

La Connection Francaise
is the second film I produced at the University of Michigan, in December 2009.

This mockumentary about the smoking restrictions at the U of M was also produced by Emily Deisler, Peter Eldred and Ben Resnik.

PS: This is not my real accent!

A Waltz in the Park

A Waltz in the Park
is the first film I produced at the University Of Michigan, in November 2009.

This tribute to Charlie Chaplin, inspired from City Lights, was also produced by Ariel Markowitz, Alex Segavac and Evelyn Sherbenou.

Shot with a Canon Scoopic 16mm camera.
Edited with tape and scissors, the old fashioned way!
